MAY TUITION: Tuition posted to accounts the month of May will be for 5 weeks. This includes the first week of June that students have classes. The tuition is still the same rate plus 1 week in June. Attached is the 5-week rate sheet.

SUMMER CLASSES: Summer lessons are a great way to try a different style of dance! The summer session will begin June 8th and end July 18th. This will be a 6-week session, the tuition rates and summer schedule will be available soon. We realize families will be taking vacations, makeup classes are available.
MARILYN’S ACADEMY OF DANCE 52ND ANNUAL RECITAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION RECITAL: Our 52nd annual recital will be June 5th, 6th & 7th, North Canyon High School, 1700 E. Union Hills Dr.
MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL is June 5th, 5:00 p.m. at North Canyon High School.
Please arrive by 4:45 p.m. Dancers may leave after they have rehearsed their number or stay and watch all the other dances. Dress rehearsal is a closed rehearsal, only 1 parent/guardian will be allowed at dress rehearsal.
RECITAL JUNE 6TH & 7TH: The recital will start both days at 4:00 p.m., dancers must arrive backstage by 3:00 p.m.
COSTUME DEPOSIT/BALANCE: The balance on all costumes is now due.
COSTUME NEEDS/DAY TO DANCE: Please open the attachment at the bottom of this newsletter informing you of what day your dancer performs. You will see the exact tights and shoes that are needed for each class.
RECITAL PICTURES: Recital pictures will be taken at the studio May 16th and 17th. We ask that all dancers come for these photos. Class pictures that are taken will be in the recital program. A picture schedule is attached, please note that the Saturday pictures times are slightly different than the schedule that was sent earlier. There is NO fee charged for the photos taken. Parents will be able to view photos and purchase them online.
RECITAL TICKETS: Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place ticket sales.
There will be 2 winners for the Saturday recital and 2 winners for the Sunday recital. This is for reserved online ticket sales only. Online reserved seating recital tickets will go on sale April 25th, 8:00 a.m. and will end May 27th, 9:00 p.m. Ticket price is $18.00 plus tax and service fee. If there are unsold tickets they will be available at the studio recital week and at dress rehearsal. If there are available seats they will be sold both days of the show. Ticket price after May 28th will be $22.00. Anyone that sits in a seat must purchase a ticket. More information will be sent as to how to purchase tickets. A parent letter will be sent home Wednesday, April 22nd, with information on how to purchase tickets.
RECITAL/REHEARSAL RULES: Please have dancers arrive for dress rehearsal and recital day dressed in full costume, hair and makeup. Please have dancers bring only the shoes they will be wearing for their performance in a small bag. Please label all shoes and costume pieces. We encourage dancers to bring water bottles, please label them.
No food or drinks other than water bottles will be allowed in the auditorium or backstage area.
Please do not add any extras to costumes.
Please do not wear any rings or earrings unless they are part of the costume. Please do not wear nail polish.
Female dancers please do not wear underwear under your tights.
MAKEUP: Dancers do need to wear makeup for dress rehearsal and recital. The stage lights wash dancers out if they do not have makeup! Please use earth tones or mauve eyeshadow, blush so that it gives color to the checks and mauve colored lipstick, please no bright red lipstick. We do suggest mascara as well. Please do not add glitter to dancers hair or face.
HAIR: Dancers in combo 1 or 2 as well as dancers in combo hiphop/acro or tap/ballet classes may wear their hair as parents wish. Please pull the sides up, out of their face. Dancers in all other classes will be instructed as to how hair is to be worn.
RECITAL PROCEDURES SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Dancers need to come to the “dancer only” entrance. Only those who are working backstage will be allowed backstage. All students are required to stay backstage the entire recital. For the safety of our dancers please do not try to come backstage for your dancers after they have performed. No dancer will be allowed to leave the backstage area until the end of the recital. All dancers will be in the finale.
RECITAL SHIRTS: All performers will receive a recital shirt. Please fill out the attached google docs with your dancers size that is needed. Extra shirts may be purchased. Please fill out the google docs no later than April 27th.
RECITAL PROGRAMS: All families will receive 1 recital program with class photos. Extra programs may be ordered, pleas fill out the attached google docs.
WOMEN HELPERS NEEDED: Women helpers are needed to help backstage with all classes. Helpers will be allowed to come side stage to watch your child perform. Helpers must stay backstage the entire recital. A google docs sign up is attached.
